I’m JP Quickelberge owner of Rockin Baby and this is my story…

My journey started when I discovered that I will soon become a father of a baby boy in the year 2010. I started preparing for the arrival in the best way I thought I could and like every South African father would ,  by purchasing all the cool dad stuff and baby gear. I searched for 2 weeks for a stylish, top quality and dad friendly bag with logic functions.

I could not find anything locally that was close to what I had in mind.  I did, however find a couple of companies abroad. These companies where founded by dads who create the coolest bags for babies and gear for dads.  I tried out the products from these companies and was stoked by the high quality hardware, hard core zippers and funky fabrics with mind blowing designs.

The interest from friends and even complete strangers who saw these stand out products was so incredible at a social event, I decided to source the best of the best for dads and create a “for SA dads website” … and like any bright idea in South Africa, the idea of Rockin Baby was born…..around a braai.

The diaper bags sold on the Rockin Baby website are for dads and moms, but mostly dads, who don’t want to carry “mom’s” big, flowery diaper bag with fluffy pink bunnies and teddy prints on. These are bags that are not only neutral or non-feminine, but are masculine and show off  a style that reflects who we are – guys who take pride in carrying our kids around without trying to hide the diaper bag, but rather looking cool with a stylish diaper bag while being a dad.
